Subject: RE: Origins: Req: My Rock (gospel) From: masato sakurai Date: 06 Aug 03 - 07:52 AM The lyrics page linked to above says Paul Overstreet & Doug Stone (only Overstreet's name is given here) wrote it. It is included at Paul Overstreet Lyrics. Here's info from BMI. MY ROCK BMI Work #5620432 |
Subject: RE: Origins: Req: My Rock (gospel) From: GUEST,C.Carter Date: 05 Nov 13 - 01:42 AM This thread is old, but if anyone is still wanting this information, contact Narsie Harvey or Bradey Bryant, sister and brother to Don Bryant, or Dorothy Collins, sister to Claude Hensley. All three live at Verdunville, WV and would have p/s numbers listed in the Logan, WV telephone book. Narsie's would be listed in Darrell, her husband's name, and Dorothy's, probably Elbert Jr., her husband. Don and Claude have both passed, both were excellent singers and they wrote the song in the early 1960's as they were returhing home after attending a revival. Don recorded music with his family and friends up into the late 1990's, I probably have over 100 songs of Don singing with his brothers and sisters, that have been transfered to cd.(including "My Rock") |
