The latest is we will not change dates. Like I said, the people who have paid cannot change. We lots and lots of probablies and maybes but not too many paid....and I have to pay the camp ASAP. There is a small chance of totally cancelling, in which case people will get immediate refunds..once I pay it is on for sure. We will be changing locations, But this other place is actually fancier..and is often shared by several groups at once..no problem..lots of buildings and 80 acres.

here is a web site.

http://www.willapabay.org/~opretreat/

Click on accomodations..they have offered us Ocean View plus the rec hall, which doubles for roller skating for kids. Speaking of kids, it is great for kids..volleyball court, swing sets etc...

The downside is I haven't checked out the kitchen yet..probably not great for a large group..poeople usually eat in the dining hall and are served..but that is way too expensive...

I also know that it could be a lot of togetherness...people who need extreme quiet or privacy might do well to get a motel nearby and come for the day. If we have a huge number register, which I don't expect, they'll give us another cabin or two. As it is, we'llhave four bedrooms plus a loft, which I guess we'll divide as men only, women only, people with kids, and Quiet People. Loft could be coed or older kids or whatever.

I'll know more in a couple of days. I wanted to check it out this weekend but they were too busy with kite festival.

Joanne D. and I went to check out the new facility...you can't see the ocean from the building but right out side it you can. It is awesome. The building is a nice, standard camp building. No fireplace but piano. Smallish but OK kitchen. large living/dining/siingineg room...the dorm rooms are in same building..large ...bunks..ok bathrooms...

plus we have a large rec hall with fireplace for late night/noisy music.

SO I think it will not only be OK, but some people will prefer it to last year's somewhat funky facilities..

Sensitive sleepers might prefer to get a motel. I am not going to make people not sing late into the night, but noisy ones I will send to the rec hall down the hill.

We'll have to be creative about the kitchen...not a lot of space..but I think we won't get too many people so anyway just register now please. mg

It sounds great to me, too, Mary, but it is the same weekend as Silver Falls and we've been going there for 20 years now. My kids would kill me (and my wife would, too) if I switched. Not that they love the singing and music so much (would that they did); it's the other kids, the woods, the camp, the tradition. This will be 12-year-old Evan's 14th time there, if you count in-utero!

Make it another weekend next year and I'll be there, although I can't promise the family.

Hope it goes well!

David
