This guy delayed his return home from Cornwall especially to help us out at our Folk Day on the Lizard.

He sang many songs during the day, all unaccompanied to an audience of non folkies. Every song seemed to fit the moment and was greeted with a warm round of applause. He even managed to keep going with a rendition of Fiddlers Green while unknown to him I did a puppet show with a large lobster in the background.

Keith left us about 8 in the evening to drive around 450 miles home.

We raised about £400 pound on the day Keith for the local lifeboat and your help was much appreciated.

Thank you friend

John

Well done Keith.

A nice cottage in Coverack and an OK job is all I ask for in this life.

And when he got back to Hertford he came down to his local session on Monday night.

He is a mainstay of our local group and has an encyclopaedic knowledge of folksong. His version of Whup Jamboree is once heard, never forgotten. He was the person who encouraged me to sing about three years ago and is generous enough to all aspiring performers to make them feel that they have something of value to offer.

And if he reads this he will be so embarrassed.....

Hi Fionn
The Hertford session is at the Hertford Club in Bull Plain on a Monday night from about 9.00. New blood always welcome. Come and see us if you're in the area.
