Jaunting Car Silly Wizard recording

The DT entry for Jaunting Car has - recorded by Silly Wizard.

This ties in with my memory, as I can clearly hear Andy M. Stewart singing it.
I would have put money on it being on "By the Hush", but it's not. Neither is it on any other Silly Wizard/Andy M. record in my collection.
A check at Andy's website confirms that it's not on any other album.
A Google search for "Jaunting Car Silly Wizard" only turns up the DT entry!!!!!

The only confirmation for a very strong memory of listening to this on record that I can find, is the words in DT, "recorded by Silly Wizard."

That memory even has it as being the last track on side one of whatever record it is on.

I have all Silly Wizard's and Andy M. Stewart's recordings and it's not an any of those.

There is an older gentleman by the name Andy Stewart who has recorded Scottish folk songs. Could you be thinking of that Andy Stewart?

If you mean "Hold Your Tongue Dear Sally" it most certainly is on "By the Hush." That's where I learned it. The one I'm thinking of is a very beautiful tune with words about an ungrateful young woman marrying a rich and doting older guy.

You're absolutely right. Hold Your Tongue, Dear Sally does contain a lyric about a jaunting car.

The lyrics listed as "Jaunting Car" in the DT are the song I was thinking of. Andy Stewart just used an alternate title.

If I'd only played "By the Hush", there it is Side 1, track 1.

The tune is the one also used for "Tramps & Hawkers," and a number of other songs, in fact there was a thread about the different songs using that tune a few years ago.
