Subject: RE: New Club in South Bucks-UK From: CraigS Date: 02 Oct 03 - 04:40 PM Pardon my friend, he is temporally challenged. The club is on Wednesdays, but the beer can cause temporary amnesia. |
Subject: RE: New Club in South Bucks-UK From: Herga Kitty Date: 02 Oct 03 - 05:29 PM Not very kind to describe Paul and Karen as the old Wycombe people - there are much older Wycombe people - but they did run the Wycombe club at its latterday venues. |

Subject: RE: New Club in South Bucks-UK From: Leadfingers Date: 03 Oct 03 - 05:45 AM Breezy, some of s sometimes get paid good money to go somewhere other than our local club. And apologies were sent in advance. |
Subject: RE: New Club in South Bucks-UK From: Herga Kitty Date: 03 Oct 03 - 02:44 PM Just in case anyone is thinking of going to the Uxbridge club, on a Tuesday, the pub is in fact called the Crown and Treaty, not the Crown and Sceptre. As far as I know (and Leadfingers and Cllr probably know better than me) the name comes from an unsuccessful attempt to negotiate a treaty between the Royal and Parliamentarian sides during the English Civil War. Kitty PS I wonder (but only briefly) if we'd have had a bigger audience last Tuesday if Breezy had got the pub name right on the Herga Kitty at Uxbridge thread..... |
