Subject: Stuttgart Germany Sessions From: GUEST,Wotcha Date: 03 Oct 03 - 02:11 PM It took me three months but sea chanteys have arrived in Stuttgart. The only place (according to its owner of course) for folk sessions is O'Reilly's Pub, Reuchlinstrasse 27-29, Stuttgart (nearest S-Bahn stop is Schwabstrasse). O'Reilley's Pub I attended the regular Monday evening session and got to hear some great Irish tunes. Dave, the owner, even let me get a few songs of the sea off my chest ... All styles of folk are welcome. If you ever find yourself in Stuttgart, this is the place to go! Cheers, Brian |

Subject: RE: Stuttgart Germany Sessions From: GUEST,Wotcha Date: 04 Oct 03 - 06:38 AM You really have to have a reason to visit Suttgart I guess -- window shopping for Porche and Mercedes ... or Smart Cars perhaps! I passed through Munich this week (visited Dachau and then drowned out the depression with a visit to the Weisse Hofbrau Haus) and thence Salzburg for a dinner complete with Mozart's music ... What's on in Munich next time I'm there? Cheers, Brian |
Subject: RE: Stuttgart Germany Sessions From: Wotcha Date: 21 Oct 03 - 11:58 AM Just made it back for a second time and launched a few more songs of the sea in land-locked Baden-Wurttemburg. The session included a Brazilian guitarist and a German bagpiper. German pipes are known as "hummelchen" (small bees)and the more I looked, the more insect-like the thing became ... Anyway, hope we can entice the owner, Dave, to post here: he's got some observations on German PEL! If you are in Stuttgart this is a nice friendly venue to relax, play a few tunes, and indulge in heavy beer. Cheers, Brian |
Subject: RE: Stuttgart Germany Sessions From: Wilfried Schaum Date: 22 Oct 03 - 03:02 AM Hi Wotcha! Thanks for the message. I'm seldom visiting Stuttgart now (I don't drive my mercedes any more, the one with the blue lights, a horn and a pump fore and aft) but when I have a chance to come we shall meet at O'Reilly's. That's a promise. Congratulations for your wise choice to visit the White Brewery; one of the best beers in Munich, and fine meals. The Hofbräuhaus may be better known, but I prefer Schneiders Weiße. Wilfried |
