Subject: UK Hovis ad 1970s From: TheBigPinkLad Date: 03 Oct 03 - 05:03 PM There was a TV ad for Hovis bread in the 1970s in the UK that used a Dvorjak piece in the background (brass band) and had a voiceover that went something like "We went down to the shops, me Mam and me. It was just after the war ..." I saw this ad in Durham and in Scotland and the dialect was Geordie and Scots respectively so perhaps it aired everywhere with local accents. Can anyone remember the exact words of the voiceover? |
