Our monthly Chantey sing will be November 11 at 7:00 PM at Rebel Marine in Willoughby Harbor of Norfolk Virginia. All are welcome. Leave your instruments at home.   Come by land or by sea. We meet every month on the second Tues. except last month we sang at the Sailors Evening for the Great Chesapeake Bay Schooner Race. We had visiting singers from all over the Atlantic and even Hawaii. (If you count Stevie Briggs - son of that scurvey sailor Capt. Lane Briggs)Rebel Marine is Capt. Briggs Marina - home of the tugantine Norfolk Rebel Hope you can come. Heely

By the way. Y'all sang some words to Mingulay that I've never heard before. They're not in the Digitrad either. Would someone mind posting the words you sang after I thought the song was over?
Thanks
Marc B

Thanks for responding ya'll. I believe the words that you needed are:

Bonnie Fishers, bully boatsmen,
Cast your nets out into the ocean.
Bring the fish back to the table.
That's the staple of Mingulay.

Ian and Briney at the pierhead
Truly loved now are they by me.
In a few years now-they'll be older,
Like their father, they'll put to sea.

Do you remember another one Marc?
Great to hear from you again. Heely

Thanks Heely;

Those sound like the words. There were a few beers at that point. I'll look you up next time I'm down that way. You do the same please, if your up Mystic, or Rhode Island way.

Marc

Thanks Marc. We were up in Canada - as far as Montreal this past August with the North American Scottish Games. We had a great trip down the coast of the US. Keep in touch. Heely
