The dilemma: friend having a low-key wedding, I'm singing a few songs a capella. no piano, organ or etc. available. She wants a recording of the traditional wedding march played as she enters. Problem: the only CD we have of it is a very heavy-handed and overblown orchestral version. Before I waste mucho bucks buying every wedding anthology CD out there, does somebody know of a good recording? String quartet or restrained orchestra, etc.???
I call upon the power of the Mudcat for a clue!

Wagner or Mendelssohn????
The Wagner is from Lohengrin and is performed by the chorus acapella in the Opera and very beaurtiful it is too!
PS that is the one that goes "here comes the Bride"!!!

I don't think I'd like recorded music for a wedding. We had friends play the Pachelbel Canon on violin with piano accompaniment, and it was lovely. And I certainly wouldn't want a MIDI to accompany my bride down the aisle (actually, we all walked together).
I found some interesting MIDI pages that might give some good ideas - but if you actually have a MIDI wedding, don't blame it on me.
Click here and here for some good wedding stuff. And here (click) for some Wagner, just because I like him.
Happy wedding.
