Subject: Galway Rover (?) lyrics
From: Francesca

Enjoyed a recent concert by "Cherish the Ladies" at which Aoife Clancy sang this tune. I believe she said this was the title; I don't recall mention of Galway in the lyrics, but may have missed it. Anyway the chorus went something like, "Oh, Jimmie, he's me darlin'/ Jimmie he's me love..." Does anyone know the song, and if so, can you give the whole text? Thanks.

This is my favorite song on their album. I think the name of it is "A New Day" or something like that. I don't have it here, so I can't look it up. There is a lyric sheet inside and it has the words. I can remember the chorus, it goes something like this:

Jimmie is me love, he's me pride and he's me darlin. Jimmie leaves me wander to the ends of the world. Jimmie brings me love, gives me hope and sets me dreamin' And when the leaves are turnin' in his arms I'll settle down In Galway town.

The album is worth buying. I love Cherish the Ladies. They are going to be in this area next week, but just far enough away that I can't get to see them and get to work the next morning! AHHHHGGG!
