Subject: RE: Barrow on Humber Six Bells Tues Session From: GUEST,Indignant Date: 26 Apr 04 - 01:51 PM Sorry I am such a grouchy old curmudgeon. I have trouble relating to people, and I can't bear it when I think people are having a better time than me. Please ignore me, and let's hope the medication kicks in soon. |
Subject: RE: Barrow on Humber Six Bells Tues Session From: KJ Date: 26 Apr 04 - 01:47 PM We may be tiny but we deserve an awful lot of threads about us 'cos we're all so brilliant & interesting!!! |
Subject: RE: Barrow on Humber Six Bells Tues Session From: GUEST,Indignant Date: 26 Apr 04 - 12:27 PM This is the third thread devoted to your tiny group. How many threads do you propose to create to promote yourselves? |

Subject: RE: Barrow on Humber Six Bells Tues Session From: Skipjack K8 Date: 27 Jan 04 - 07:08 PM Not the weather for gastropods, certainly. Oaklet was seen hopping towards Sarf Ferriby in the blizzard. It's about as deep as a very small penis. |
Subject: RE: Barrow on Humber Six Bells Tues Session From: Les from Hull Date: 27 Jan 04 - 07:04 PM And it might be a whelk kept secret, Skippy, but I'll winkle it out of them. Whelks are not known to be tight-lipped, you know. Although mussels can be green-lipped. |
Subject: RE: Barrow on Humber Six Bells Tues Session From: Les from Hull Date: 27 Jan 04 - 07:02 PM Well it's white over in Hull (probably it's not true about ner sner on Freme Rerd anymore). Trust you'll be alright in the South though. |
Subject: RE: Barrow on Humber Six Bells Tues Session From: Bloke in the Corner Date: 27 Jan 04 - 01:51 PM Yup, another run to Barrow, there is certainly no snow around here now, nor is any forecast until the end of the night, so travelling shouldn't be a problem. But I do understand, Daithi, see you next week. Let's hope loads of other people come, though. |
Subject: RE: Barrow on Humber Six Bells Tues Session From: Daithi Date: 27 Jan 04 - 05:53 AM Just had the Jeep serviced today so naturally won't want to risk the newly polished tyres in the impending blizzard which a trip to Barrow would entail (if the fragrant Sian Lloyd is to be believed.. ) See youse all next time hopefully. Have a great night as usual! |
Subject: RE: Barrow on Humber Six Bells Tues Session From: Skipjack K8 Date: 27 Jan 04 - 04:34 AM Dunno, Les, it will remain a whelk kept secret. Lordy Dordy, it's tonight. I might go if I'm doing nowt. |
Subject: RE: Barrow on Humber Six Bells Tues Session From: Les from Hull Date: 21 Jan 04 - 03:11 PM Would it be the Prawn Ranger? diddle-um diddle-um diddle-um dum dum... |
Subject: RE: Barrow on Humber Six Bells Tues Session From: GUEST,Skipjack K8 Date: 21 Jan 04 - 05:05 AM And a rocking session it was. Who was that ranger dressed as a shellfish technician? |
Subject: RE: Barrow on Humber Six Bells Tues Session From: The DeanMeister Date: 20 Jan 04 - 10:24 AM Would love to be there, old chap, but Fizzy Gravy will be strutting their stuff elsewhere. Promise to make it one day... (unless it becomes a no smoking venue..!!) |
Subject: RE: Barrow on Humber Six Bells Tues Session From: KJ Date: 20 Jan 04 - 10:11 AM I shall have to attend now in my health professional role. You guys need help. |
Subject: RE: Barrow on Humber Six Bells Tues Session From: GUEST,Skipjack K8 Date: 20 Jan 04 - 09:50 AM 'Sfunny how you never see Judith and Chewbacca together. All members of the Soth Ferriby Sexual Reorientation Club are welcome, but please don't bring the Ninja from Number 21. |
Subject: RE: Barrow on Humber Six Bells Tues Session From: Oaklet Date: 20 Jan 04 - 09:47 AM I am gonna be there as a representative of the South Ferriby nocturnal orienteering club. To sustain me, I will have only a map, an ounce of shag, a mucky magazine, a black-and-white photo of Judith Chalmers and a hanky. Oh, and a bassoon. |
Subject: RE: Barrow on Humber Six Bells Tues Session From: KJ Date: 20 Jan 04 - 09:03 AM So will we |
Subject: RE: Barrow on Humber Six Bells Tues Session From: GUEST,Skipjack K8 Date: 20 Jan 04 - 08:51 AM Feresh. It's tonight. And I'll be there. |
Subject: RE: Barrow on Humber Six Bells Tues Session From: Skipjack K8 Date: 06 Jan 04 - 08:00 AM I've been boning up Hesleyside after that luvverley Northumbrian set she played last week. A credit to the thrupenny bit, that woman. |

Subject: RE: Barrow on Humber Six Bells Tues Session From: GUEST,Skipjack K8 Date: 06 Jan 04 - 06:28 AM Sacre bleu, Smilepooper, only just read about your oddysey. Still, you had the company of the delightful Anita. feresh, for them as can and will come tonight. |
Subject: RE: Barrow on Humber Six Bells Tues Session From: smallpiper Date: 31 Dec 03 - 06:04 AM Well that was a great session followed by a big adventure. The Humber Bridge was closed due to a serious accident so I had to drive the 68 miles around! Oh well it was fun! Have a great new year and we will see you next Tuesday. |
Subject: RE: Barrow on Humber Six Bells Tues Session From: GUEST,Skipjack K8 Date: 30 Dec 03 - 07:10 AM Yes, 'twould; a night off from plumbing hell that prevented my seminal influence at Sunday's session. Mothers, tell your babies, be plumbers and thou wilst never go hungry. |
Subject: RE: Barrow on Humber Six Bells Tues Session From: smallpiper Date: 30 Dec 03 - 05:55 AM So tyhat would be tonight then. |
Subject: RE: Barrow on Humber Six Bells Tues Session From: Bloke in the Corner Date: 29 Dec 03 - 01:22 PM I too, of course, will grace the 'do' with my presence, a merry song and usual inaccurate guitar/mandola playing. The Six Bells really is a fitting replacement for the Sloop, who knows, Osama bin Oaklet might even bring his scratcher and make tuneful noises. I know the Ayatollah is intending to come and bring Al Quaeda.... Stop now, quiet time for you..... |
Subject: RE: Barrow on Humber Six Bells Tues Session From: smallpiper Date: 29 Dec 03 - 09:26 AM erm skippjack I think Jo was at the Coach and Horses not the George and Dragon but we will let that one go. Anyhoo I for one will be there (hopefully with Anita in tow) so come on the rest of you. |
Subject: Barrow on Humber Six Bells Tues Session From: Skipjack K8 Date: 29 Dec 03 - 07:25 AM Things are looking up for the old Sloop session that has had a chequered history of late. It has now found a (hopefully!) permanent home at the Six Bells, which is in the centre of the village of Barrow Upon Humber, North Lincolnshire (formerly the Peoples' Republic of South Humberside). Map The session is a successful mix of tune and song, and welcomes improving singers and players. Also, there is complimentary food laid on by Jo, our landlady, who previously housed the session when she was at the helm of the George and Dragon in Barton. And it's on tomorrow, Tuesday 30th December 2003. |
