The Levellers will be headlining the first Kington Music Festival in Herefordshire. More details about the festival will be posted as soon as I receive them, but I was so excited about this I just had to tell you now. The Festival will be 3rd Weekend of June.

Coo

I saw these first in 1990. It was the sweatiest gig I've ever been to. Loads of people dancing in Gloucester Leisure Centre, summers evening, BOILING room and the hairiest looking audience I've ever seen.

It was fab! Brill and a good evening. I think Chumbawamba played first...

Ahhhhhh Halcyon dayze

Ella

Apologies for being contrary, but The Levellers are decidedly awful, in my opinion.

I've heard them a few times at various festivals, and simply don't enjoy the anthemic, 'punch the air' style of their music. But that's just my taste (or lack of it).

However, most people I know agree that the 'vibe' gets a bit nastier when they play at major festivals (Cambridge etc).

Not for me...

The Festival will be 3rd Weekend of June.

As in "the week after Bishop's Castle FF 11-13 June 2004"?

Sorry, I will be at BC, but the next weekend I'll be at Alcester FF.

Ed : Good comments. I must admit to liking most styles of music.

Snuffy : Needlesstosay I won't be at Alcester this year. This festival in Kington is a music festival with folk attachments. It'll be up to us to start the sessions in the pubs I think. Still we know how to do that, don't we guys? Oh and thanks for the link.
