Come join us for on line song and tune sharing tonite.
Go to www.paltalk.com - (there is a small, free, download)
after you sign on, go th GROUPS, scroll down to MUSIC,
click on adult and look for MUDCAT LIVE ACOUSTIC JAM.
If you have speakers and a microphone and sound card,
you can participate. If you do not have a mic, you can
listen in. Everyone is welcome to take a turn sharing.
There is a microph9one icon you can click on which will
request a turn at the mic. This will put your name on the
list and show a hand in front of your name.
I will open the jam room at 7 pm pacific time...
this time corresponds with 8 pm mountain time
and also will be at central 9 pm
and mud cat time (eastern)10 pm
for those on other continents, add or subtract accordingly!
We often have people from all around the world.
If you have any questions, p.m. me .

I stopped by, open mike, but I didn't know anyone but you! The text chat was fast and nothing I knew anything about, so...I'll try again some other time. I hope more Mudcatters will come along, too. I don't have anything against lots of non-Mudders, etc. it's just kind of overwhelming when one hasn't been in there for a couple of years and not too many friendly faces show up.:-)

Hey all, I had a great time listening to so many fine players tonight, and even got some help with some sound issues I've been struggling with. All of those preferences to choose from makes it hard to know just what boxes to click, but by the close of the evening's festivities I understand my sound quality actually improved, and I didn't sound bubbly any more. I'm so happy, I could write a song about it. ;0) Three cheers to Open Mike for hosting tonight and I hope to see(hear) you all there next Thursday. Kat,

Open Mike has a good point...catters may be in the room under a pal name that you may not recognize. As far as the text goes, I hope you come and stay long enough to know what is being talked about...lots of times it is nothing and, if you are like me, you will find other things to do while listening in. I am sure that once you are used to it all again and familiar with the people, Pal would be a great place to offer up your wonderful singing and spoken word. Or just come and listen in. I can't say it is like the good old day, but, hey, what is?

Of course, my real reason for posting is because I have a version of Jelly Jelly Blues, and I know you would get a kick out of it. So please do come by. Now all I have to do is remember to show up....remembering sure gets harder these days.

but with an emulator program you can--they are
working on that...the pal talk tech folks said..
I think some macs are ibm compatible

I did not have to intervene to break up any skirmishes,
as most visitors were well behaved. We went on for well over 7 hours-
which is hard to believe! Many folks performed original music, and
a good time was had by all. I do intend to be there next thursday,
same cat time, same cat station -- Good Lord willing and the creek don't rise..or power outages, or avalanches, or ice on the phone lines, etc.
when the room closed at nearly 2 a.m. i went back to mudcat to announce that we had closed, but could not get back on. and as always thanks to
frank for being my mentor!

Thank you open mike for hosting last night. Once again, I was spared the dreaded red dot treatment! Whew! I guess I was just so excited because folks could actually finally hear me, due to all your help with the settings, that I became a bit flustered and didn't disconnect that mic soon enough for ya. It's hard to believe that I've been going to PalTalk as long as I have, and only just last night managed to set the sound controls and port settings so that I could be heard by the rest of the folks in the room. I guess I have a slow learning curve. ;O) A little help from friends was just what was needed.

A grand time was had by one and all. Wonderful players all night long and several from right here in my own State (of confusion), oops, I mean WA. That was a real treat. The clarity was fine too even from all the way over there in Maine. Well now that I'm finally setup I'm going to be a more frequent visitor.

Saw ya next Thursday.

Don't you just add 6 hours to EST to get GMT, so if jam tonight is 9pm EST(1st April), it will be 3am GMT (2nd April). I think this is correct...pity you couldn't do it a bit earlier though!

Nearly 5:30PM Aussie Time! The room has been in the top 5 (based on number) music rooms for the last couple of hours! Had heaps of fun, thanks guys! So those of you who weren't there missed hearing me on Piano Accordion (several different ones!), Sinfonia, D whistle & Low Whistle.

I'd like to try it some time; A while back (several years) I premiered a song for my Mom in (what I presume was) a predecessor of this & it was great fun. Tomorrow night, tho, it's PP&M at the local University's biggest hall & usually thursday is our live jam-at-the-hardware-store-basement night.. but, some time.. & when it happens I'd like to sub one of my regular "real" mic's, not the junker I used last time, that hooks to this crummy computer; just not sure how to do that.

I wish I could have been there. I was trying to get that demo I've been working on burned and printed. My new gear was more of a challenge to configure than I expected. It took much longer to work the bugs out and fine tune everything. I finally did get an acceptable looking finished product, but it was after midnight by then and I was ready to pass out. I can't use my machine to both burn and print at the same time. The resources each operation needs won't allow it. So, I was nose to the grindstone altering design details, etc. I've got an early rehersal today and a private party this evening. So there's much to prepare.

Do you have a MAC? I do not thin that Paltalk is
configured for Macs....yet.
what version of paltalk do you have?
you may need to down load a recent version and tyry agian.
mine says it is release 5.1, build 553.
i will not be able to open the mudcat room this thursday
as there is a benefit concert for a local musician with

I will be host(ess)ing the Mudcat Live Acoustic Jam this thursday eve.
Many of the musicians from Paltalk spent the weekend at a jam in Arkansas and Mudcat folks had the Getaway as well. For those of us
who were not able to travel to attend either of these, we can jam, too!
