This sounds good , is it a regular thing or a one off? Might come up one night. I love driving and playing.

Having just got back from a very enjoyable session, the unfortunate news is that it is probably the last at this venue - the old use it or lose it argument I'm afraid!

Will keep you informed of any others which get added to the gig list.

Sheffield is wonderful - and that comes from a monkey hanger who settled in Bradford - an expert in post industrial landscapes if ever there was one.

Personally, I call that a shut mic session.

There are occasional open mic sessions in Nottingham, associated with Nottingham Trent Uni. COntemporaray acoustic I think, not folk.

I think the pub is down the bottom of the lace market. Forgotten the name.

It's only a few miles down the M1.

John, at 1 hour & 40 minutes that must have been the shortest folk-evening ever! And a 50-minute Open-Mic session must be an absolute free-for-all of would-be participants fighting and crawling over each other to try and get a spot! I can see it in the local Sheffield papers now, "Folkie-Rage hits Chapeltown"! How many people can you fit into 50 minutes, three or four at most? Far too short to encourage me to travel all the way from Gainsborough and risk not getting a spot.
Sorry - needs to be longer

The landlords format not ours folks. And really aimed at people more local to Sheffield. Perhaps in hindsight I shouldn't have announed it here.

Highlight of the night was a young chap of probably 9/10 years old who gave his first public performance. He even got to use Julie's new Manson guitar - not many people get to do that!
