Does anyone out there know anything about guitarist Pete Chalmers. In the early 90s, he had a monthly "celtic roots" guitar feature in the UK magazine " Guitar International". He favoured dadgad tuning had some great arrangements of Irish trad tunes and pieces by O'Carolan. I was wondering what he's up to these days.

Peter Chalmers was a very fine guitarist who, at various times, lived in Montreal, London, Ontario and London, England.

Peter was a heavy smoker and died of a stroke in Montreal in the early-1990s. I don't think he made it to 40.

I had a strange feeling that Peter may have died, only because of the fact that such a good arranger of celtic tunes should have seemingly " disappeared". I play a few of his arrangements, and always give him credit when playing live.
