Subject: Start of the Season From: ced2 Date: 18 Mar 04 - 06:24 AM Now St Pat's day is over the new season will soon be upon us. Sunday is the 21st of March, the first day of Spring. So by any logic (mathematical or otherwise), its the first Sunday of spring, thus in the words of Tom Lehrer's amazingly brilliant song:- "Spring is here, Spring is here, Life is skittles, life is beer, There is one thing that makes life complete for me, And makes every Sunday a treat for me......" How will you start the season? Have you coated your peanuts? Is the laboratory ready for those whith which you wish to experiment? Are members of the Audubon Society (or in our case the RSPB) quaking with much anxiety? Enjoy, but always remember please, BE PREPARED! and the world will be in-tune on a spring afternoon! |

Subject: RE: Start of the Season From: open mike Date: 18 Mar 04 - 02:13 PM according to the Farmers' Almanac ---Spring officially begins at 1:49 am EST on March 20th. And this in theOld Farmer's Almanac March 20 - Vernal Equinox, 1:49 A.M. EST. The word equinox is derived from the Latin words meaning "equal night." The vernal, or spring, equinox refers to the point at which the Sun appears to cross the celestial equator from south to north, signaling the beginning of nature's renewal in the Northern Hemisphere. so do not wait til sunday to start celebrating! start today! |

Mr Lehrer recommends cyanide, are there other equally efficatious solutions if the CN radicle is not available? |
Subject: RE: Start of the Season From: Dave Hanson Date: 20 Mar 04 - 02:20 AM You could do with coating shaky eggs with something that is absorbed through the skin, or perhaps you should take him home to experiment ? [You know who I mean.] eric |
