I was reading through the 3 Wishes thread and it suddenly hit me! (I gotta learn to duck). I can't remember seeing a thread on when and where we all lost "it." I looked through the database and couldn't find one - just one on loosing your "stage performance" virginity.

So here goes:

When, where, who, how long, and was it all that it was supposed to be?

Technically, it was on a horse, after about 8 hours of heavy riding (in contrast to heavy petting). I was 15, and I vaguely recall having a cigarette afterwards, as he/she? munched some hay. About 1962 - I hadn't been keeping it on purpose - it was just the first time a girl said "You can go all the way if you want". I had had several sexual affairs by then, it was just that I had never achieved an orgasm by actual penetration before. I don't think that I was very skilful, but the lady seemed to enjoy it and seemed to want it again (and again and again and again . . . . ) - it provided me with the beginning of the learning curve - and was very enjoyable - I hope mutually.

Rapaire - mobile phones haven't been around long enough for you to have lost your virginity to one of them and I hate think what you were doing with it if you did ! Is that the latest story that girls tell their mums to explain the absence of a complete hymen ? - it was usually riding a bicycle (or a pony if they were posh types) in my day.

I appreciate that you've spent time in Chicago, but having had over 120 years of family roots here, downstate Illinois and Chicago are world's apart. Once you get 100 miles out of Chicago, the mid-western twang kicks in, country music is on just about every radio station (not a bad thing!) and they have no idea what an Italian beef sandwich is ( not a good thing). The most ethnic a restaurant gets is Pizza Hut and for sure you never run into a Jew like me!

Shucks, Martin, I went to (Catholic-run) college with Jewish folks. Set gravestones for 'em, too, back when I was doing that for a living. Not "some of my best friends are..." but true "nice folks, even though the xxxxx's are some real shits, just like the (Catholic, Lutheran, etc.) NNNNNNN's are." Besides, my brother studied Hebrew at the local synagogue.

As for time in Illinois, my roots in downstate (yes, it IS a different world, being mostly rural) can be traced to 1827. There were apparently some of my ancestors there before that, only we can't prove it. I currently have five or six cousins living in Chi, as well as a bunch of friends there.

Actually, Amos, you have stumbled onto what I believe is the truth of the matter regarding the "immaculate conception" spoken of in the Bible. Mary's virginity was not a physical matter at all, it was a spiritual condition. Besides, there is nothing non-immaculate about normal sexual conception...but what about the consciousness behind it? That is the crucial matter. One can have immaculate intentions or one can have compromised intentions, and on a spiritual level that is the vital matter, regardless of the physical circumstances.

There's some complex math there -- when the proximity goes negative the price stabilizes at its last agreed point (since negotiation is moot at that point) but at all incrememnts of distance down to zero the price goes up proportionally to the inverse of distance times the inverse of the affinity factor. Actually, for me it was clumsy fooling around for both of us. We didn't seem to know what hit us. It was a big surprise. Luckily, he was as young as myself. I have since heard many other stories and can only be grateful that we were both innocent. Unfortunately we were "found out" because it happened on my parent's bed and we left a mess - I didn't know about that part either. I was nearly 16 and it was with my school music teacher. He was the first person to tell me that I had a good singing voice, but he said he could help me to use it better, so I used to go round to his flat after school on Wednesdays. He showed me how to sing from my tummy by standing behind me with his hands round my chest to stop me from breathing up the top, then one day he asked me if I wanted to do something else and I said OK. We used to do it regularly after that and I really enjoyed it. Perhaps it was a good thing because otherwise it would have probably been with a boy of my own age who wouldn't have insisted on using a contraceptive like he did, and then I'd have got pregnant.

I thought he was ever so old at the time and was surprised that he still wanted to do it. Now I'm about the same age as he was and I still have a strong sex drive so I can understand why he did. After about a year he got engaged to a girl and told me he didn't want to see me any more, I suppose he'd been going out with her all along, and then he got married. It didn't really matter because I was leaving school anyway. A few years later I saw them in a pub, I was a bit drunk and was going to go up and tell her, but my friends stopped me.

16 years old on a Sunday afternoon in 1970 with my English schoolteachers' 21 year old wife and it was lovely. The one curious thing I remember was not taking my socks off - to this day I don't know why not.

I'm a school teacher. If I found out that any staff member of any school I taught in--or didn't teach in--was having any kind of wrongful liaison with a student of any age, I would have his license revoked and the police in on it faster than shit runs through a goose. I would likely also be charge by the police for assault with intent to cause bodily harm.

Er - Brucie, it wasn't the school teacher, it was the schoolteacher's spouse who is not stated to have been staff, so presumably wasn't staff.

Similar restrictions appear to be imposed on university teachers too, and there I do not see that it is wrong at all unless the teacher teaches the student in question, or of course uses authority to coerce.

Well, I'll tell ya. It happened in 1932. In New York City, not long after I got off the boat from Africa. She was short, bowlegged, and hairy. A real looker. She had big, pouty lips, and could hoot like a howler monkey. But she was all Chimpanzee. Her name was Zelda. I met her at a Coney Island hotdog stand. We went for a walk along the seaside, under the boardwalk, and we found a discreet place in the shadows. The moon was real bright in the sky and you could hear the ferris wheels and painted pony rides off in the distance. It was amazing. I ain't seen Zelda in many years, but I ain't never gonna forget. I used to live in the Detroit area -- which is not *too* far from Elderly Instruments (Lansing's folk music mecca). One evening, during a sing, the subject of Elderly Instruments came up, and everyone was talking about the last time they'd managed to get there.

It seemed I was the only person in the room who had never been to the place, so I boldly (but unwisely!) stated that I was an "Elderly Virgin"...

The room got very quiet. I turned bright red. "Let me rephrase that..." I said, as everyone else fell over laughing.
