Amazingly, this Alan Lomax collection has been withdrawn after only a year from issue. I have been trying to get hold of a copy but all my usual sources, real and online have failed, some accepted the order then after a long silence had to admit they hadn't got a copy and couldn't get one. It isn't even on Camsco.
I can't believe such a valuable collection, that's clearly sold out in a year, is not being reissued.
If anyone knows better and can direct me to a source I'd be grateful.

RtS
(what's that dear, was I ordering another CD? Er, ....)

I am betting it has something to do with the fact that the Library of Congress has recently acquired the Lomax collection. See the thread about it here.

"American Folk-Blues Train" was not part of the on-going Alan Lomax Collection reissue program of Rounder (which will continue with nothing going out-of-print).

Rather, it was a kind of best-of collection of tracks from the Lomax collection that were licenced by Castle Music in England. That Castle has let it go out of print has nothing to do with the Library of Congress acquisition of the Collection.

It's a collection of three previously issued LPs: MURDERER'S HOME; BLUES IN THE MISSISSIPPI NIGHT; and AMERICAN SONG TRAIN volume one. Rounder's 2-volume Prison Songs is an enlarged edition of the first one, and I think the second is still in print.

and CAMSCO has all of them. PLEASE don't assume that if a particular CD isn't on the CAMSCO Web page that it isn't available--if there's something you want, call me (my dime) at 800/548-FOLK (3655)
