Oh God, I HATE websites like that! In the place called "bio" thay have an arselicking that begins:

Well, I've heard it said that Mudcat is prejudiced in favor of "traditional" music - as if that were a fault.

I wish Katy well, and I don't like seeing impolite comments about her post, but I guess I'd say Katy's work doesn't look like "traditional" folk music. Maybe it's good, but it doesn't look like my cup of tea.

The MP3s were not available, "later" is what the message said. So i don't know what she sounds like.

Looking at the lyrics of the 5 songs that she has available on the website, 4 out 5 are in the first person (I, me, mine) and a good 4 out of 5 are about love. My first reaction is "here's another singer/songwriter giving us s/s a bad name, wearing her angst on her sleeve". Her "arty" pics in the gallery corroborate that. I may be wrong - but why are these the 5 songs she put forward? Presumably because they are her best...

Her gig list is short and mainly Koeln-based.

So, why is she a star? Who said so? Where are the reviews?

I don't deny that she may be one (whether in folk or pop remains to be seen). But her website does her no favours...
