Subject: Lyr Req: Roaming is a Fever From: Franz S. Date: 09 Apr 04 - 11:48 PM I learned this song about 45 years ago, have never heard it since, and now I can only remember the chorus. Learned it from Mel Lyman, but don't really want ot rehash that; I knew him before. Anyhow: Roaming is a fever that settles in the blood. It makes a sailor heartsick, it make a father old. Yes, roaming is a fever that settles in the blood And once you've left your home behind You've lost a home for good. Yeah, it's one of those "I hit the road and now I'm lonesome" songs, but it has some emotional importance for me. I've checked Google, Digitrad, and the Folk Song Index. Can anyone help? Charley, did you ever hear this one? |
