That song has come up here quite a lot over the years. There are several different threads, mostly containing repeats of the same information; largely because people seem to have differing ideas about what the title is, and don't think to search for "lye soap", I suppose. 3 years ago I provided links to four discussions on the same subject in a fifth thread somebody had revived from 1998 (and, of course, one to the DT file):
