Subject: RE: Who's going to Mystic? From: Charley Noble Date: 29 Apr 04 - 08:05 AM Nor and I will be going from Roll & Go, working as sound volunteers again and looking forward to the late night shanty/chantey sings. It's really a must festival for those who love sea music, and in my opinion entertaining to others who enjoy traditional style folk music. The Museum itself has a vast array of exhibits, many of them set up as demonstrations as in Williamsburg or Old Sturbridge Village, and of course you have the big sailing ships, the training ship the Conrad and the whaling bark the Charles W. Morgan, and a fleet of smaller sailing vessels. Nothing beats wandering around the grounds late at night, amidst the shadows of the buildings and the ships, slipping back in time as it were, while avoiding the fatal slip into the harbor. Let's have another round! Cheerily, Charley Noble |
