The delectable Avril Betts, better known in her male incarnation as Dave Bryant, will be appearing at the St Albans Spotlight club this Sunday 9th May, at the British Legion, Verulam Road, St Albans, Herts, UK. Doors open at 7:30 for a prompt 8:00pm start.

For those who don't know what to expect: Powerful baritone, choice material, often performed with actions, great singalong choruses (chori?) and - perhaps - a "close shave" (pretty please?).

We will try to get to Snorbans as early as possible, but it might be nearer 8pm as Linda has a 15 year old son to sort out. No problem with the number of songs or time - for many pub gigs we have to do at least 2 hours worth.

No JB - I play dominoes with me Dad on Tuesdays at the British Legion in Harpenden - you've very welcome to come and watch

Ever since I gave Tuesday over to dominoes in 1992 it has become the best night of the week for folk in the Beds/Herts area - shows how lucky I am

St Albans has the pedigree to be the folk capital of the world - seeing the cathedral from the M25 on the eastern approach is quite amazing - makes you wonder what the pilgrims must have felt like
