Just to let you all know that the magistrates have decided that I a a 'fit and proper person' and allowed me to be a licencee for the Sheffield Folk Festival fund raising ceilidh on Fri 14th. Fisrtt one to say it's abit like putting King Herod in charge of the Children's Home is a dead person.

It was a good night. I was especially pleased to meet Sorcha after all this time, as I probably won't be able to get to the main Yorkshire gathering this year.

The beer turned out to be rather nice as well. I can't speak for the dancing (don't do it myself) but there was quite a lot of it going on, and the band and other performers did a grand job. We seem to have made a profit, too, so the festival has money for stamps and stuff to be going on with. World domination may have to wait a year or two yet, of course.

Good night was had by all including your 'licensee' who served pints of HPA to the masses. Mike (Steel) came to the hillsboro sesh last night and we've made a goodly sum (more than expected). Thanks to everyone especially Owain who organised the band and worked like a trooper. Trinculo were fab and thanks for their help an d to John the caller. Plus everyone on't committee for all there help.

Ohmigosh! I completely forgot about the Hillsbro Hotel session last night! Did a lot of running around on Sat and was totally knackered Sun -- went to bed about 8 pm and was asleep almost before me head hit the pillow. Ah, well... I'm sure I missed a good 'un. Hopefully I'll do better next month!
