I fingerpick that one in Dropped- D tuning on the guitar and came up with these chords:

(D) Sorrow and (A)sadness(Bm)(A)bitterness (Bm) grief,
(G)Memories I have of (D)you,
(A)Won't leave me in (Bm)peace.
(G)My Mind's running (D)back to the(A)west coast of (Bm)Clare.
(A)Times we had (Bm)then.

I use this same sequence for the intro and use this one for the breaks:

G D A Bm A Bm

I hope you wont mind if I add a bit to what you have posted

In the second line, above 'have' is the chord A7sus2 (index finger, 4th string, 2nd fret, open A,G & B).
I submit that the Bm over the word 'Clare', should in fact be a D, and the next line:
'Thinking of you' would have then be (D - BM), which would be the same sequence as the next line:
'And the times we had there'.

The last line "And the times we had there", is (as you have stated) A - BM       :-)
