God (aka Dick Gaughan) is also coming to CROYDON FC on Monday 14th June AND that wonderful band (OK so I'm biased) The Flying Chaucers will be doing some floor spot stuff beforehand! Cheers Sarah |

Subject: RE: Dick Gaughan at Faversham FC June 9th From: The Borchester Echo Date: 10 Jun 04 - 05:15 AM What a magnificent performance! In the immortal words of Brian McNeill, the 'angry young man turned bad-tempered middle-aged bastard' gave all the right targets a bashing with No Gods and Precious Few Heroes, Erin Go Bragh and Waist Deep in the Big Muddy and gave timely reminders of how we ought to live more effectively and humanely with When I'm Gone, Both Sides of the Tweed and my personal favourite, Outlaws and Dreamers. Old, well-loved stuff like Now Westlin Winds, Song for Ireland and VBL were interspersed with new tunes, brilliantly played and breathtaking in their impact. The Gaughan heart is as big as ever and the eyes, you'll all be relieved to know, much improved. You really shouldn't miss what's left of this tour. And apologies to all in the Chimney Boy for winning the raffle! I'm raising a glass to you now...(well not now exactly. Not for breakfast. I wrote this as soon as I got back but Mudcat went on a slow moody when it came to post!) |
