Hi,

does anyone have the lyrics to Drunk Again by Rab Noakes please?

I haven't heard the song in many a year but I can still remember the tune. I once saw Rab live and he opened with this song - I seem to recall him introduce it with something along the lines of "the basic premise of this song is that, if yer drunk againm then yer must have been drunk afore!"

Thanks
Leon

I don't have them I'm afraid, but this is the first time I've heard Rab mentioned in near 30 years. I saw him a couple or three times in Newcastle as support for Lindisfarne (he was booed off once) and I remember the song. All that remains in my memory is
Drunk again, for today, drunk again another way. Hope someone can come up with the words for you Leon,

Hi, I re-learnt this recently for a themed singers night (on drinking).

DRUNK AGAIN (Rab Noakes)

Drunk again for today,
Drunk again another way,
Out of nothing, into something
But I've been trying to turn away from.

Drunk again in sunshine,
Drunk again wait for the moonshine.
No more wine, no more rhyme,
Plenty of daydreams & plenty of time.

Drunk again please play the fiddle,
Drunk again walk down the middle,
Of the road, mind the spaces,
Join the dots & pick out the faces

Drunk again float down the river,
Drunk again watch out for the liver,
And the dyer has made the cast,
Well I tell you this one is going to be my last.
Cheers
Les

Les - many thanks for this. I have exactly the same reason as you for looking it up - a theme night on drinking songs - only I think I may have left it a bit late (it's tonight).

Bigpingklad - Rab was opening support to Lindisfarne when I saw him as well (the other support act was an up and coming outfit known as Genesis).

cheers
Leon
