Private Jones came in one night,
Full of cheer and very bright.
He'd been out all day upon the spree.
He bumped into Sergeant Smeck,
Put his arms around his neck,
And in his ear he whispered tenderly:

CHORUS: Kiss me goodnight, Sergeant Major.
Tuck me in my little wooden bed.
We all love you, Sergeant Major,
When we hear you bawling, 'Show a leg.'
Don't forget to wake me in the morning
And bring me round a nice hot cup of tea.
Kiss me goodnight, Sergeant Major.
Sergeant Major, be a mother to me!

Can't help with Chords and stuff

*ROFL*

A good friend of mine just got promoted to Master Sergeant. I've got to work this one up as a barbershop quartet for him.

Any chance anybody's got four-part harmony for this tune?????

BB,

NightWing

Delighted to see on that video that the Sergeant-Major pictured really was a Company Sergeant-Major wearing the correct rank insignia of crown on forearm. The crown above three stripes, which actually represents a colour-sergeant of staff-sergeant, is often mistaken for a sergeant-major's insignia, probably due to confusion in that three stripes indicate a sergeant and a crown on the shoulder a major. But this is a terrible solecism, which got that famous 1981 tv adaptation of "Bridesheaed Revisited" off to a dire start.
