BRIDE 1945 was written by Paul Siebel and recorded by him on "Woodsmoke and Oranges" (1970), and "Paul Siebel" (1995). It was also recorded by Ian Matthews on "Journeys from Gospel Oak" (1972), "Homegrown" (1998), and "Folk Heartbeat" (1999); and by Rosalie Sorrels on "Then Came the Children" (1984).

Maybe this information will help somebody...

Bride 1945
(Paul Siebel)

She was so young then; he wasn't much older.
He loved her some then; he was a soldier.
She wrote him every day, so far across the sea.
He sent her post card of the boys in his company.

The war was over; yeah, they got married.
Everything clover, Her and her Harry,
She planned the future, What's a girl to think about?
A home in the suburbs, if they could learn to do without.

Rollers and hair pins, she doesn't care now,
Harry's a salesman; he's never there now.
It's all for nothing, and the kids don't care at all.
One just quit college, and the youngest left last fall.

She was so young then; he wasn't much older.
He loved her some then; he was a soldier.
She planned the future; what's a girl to think about?
A home in the suburbs, if they could learn to do without.

There you go Daffy, can't help with the chords tho'.

I do have them for "Louise","Then Came The Children","Anyday Woman", and "Long Afternoons".

Don
