Hi Sue,
I'm going to post you the email failure notices I receive, so as you will not think I'm barmy!
I've recorded a version of your song, which I will get off to to you this week. I hope yopu will like it -you did say to play around with the melody if I wanted.
Everything makes sense now in the lyrics except for 'sparked clogs'. What does this mean?

Hi Don children used to wear wooden soled clogs -if they could afford shoes at all to make them last longer they often had metal segs put onto toes and heels if you kicked these against the cobbloed roads ( which we still have in Longwood) you could make sparks - hance kids would go 'sparking clogs' past tense 'sparked clogs'

Sparkin' clogs leads to sore ears ........... if your Mother caught you sparking clogs you got a clip round the lugholes for wearing them down too fast

I'm too young to remember it Raggy I've just seen photos - besides we were too poor to have shoes!!
