Wow! 'The Log Driver's Waltz' - that has to be one of the most popular things that's ever been shown on CBC ... I used to get the song requested all the time, on the basis of that (your!) animation. (I hope it hasn't turned into a curse for you) ... Of course, the McGarrigles deserve some credit too, along with Mr Hemsworth.

Speaking of Max Ferguson - I remember a line from him in a little Christmas parody a few of the CBC radio characters put on back in the '70's:

Shepherd (aside): I better get the flock outta here!

Log Driver isn't a curse; Wade was such a terrific songwriter, and it's nice that young folks see it as part of their generation. (A friend recently had to pass through a crowd of surly teens to get into the subway station, but was reassured when she heard they were all singing "Loggie" together!)

But it's great when someone notices something else that I've done!

And Max - he must have stayed on the air for 50+ years! In the earliest days, when he called himself "Old Rawhide", my father would re-enact his skits for guests; I'm sure I was less than five.

(One of his characters chucked his grandmother off the leaning Tower of Pisa, to retest Galileo's experiment... ...that was back around 1950)
