Wow, I'm having trouble doing this. sorry...

Last year my Kindergarten kids learned to sing a song in Russian, phonetically. They also sang it in Sign Language, and in English. They sang it at our graduation. The parents LOVED it. I'd like to teach a song in another language - a song about...maybe love, or peace, or friendship....... What do you suggest? Thanks!

Was your song "may there always be sunshine?". It's always a hit. What about "Shalom, chaverim", a classic Hebrew round (it's in Rise Up Singing, if that helps). There's also a song< I think by Judith Cook Tucker, called "Amigos" tht can be in any language you wish (we sing it in English, Spanish, French and Turkish at my school!) It's published by World Music Press. I have several others, so email me at aac@monad.net if you want a bunch of resources. Kindergartners can learn a variety of things, given enough time! Unfortunately I only see mine for 1/2 an hour per week!

Yes, May there always be sunshine was the Russian song....... I had learned it from John McCutcheon, and got some assistance from Mudcatters in recalling the phonetic Russian, so that I could teach it. If one needs help, this is certainly the place to come.

How about 'Everbody Loves Saturday Night'? It's in DT.

Thanks, Bert! That's perfect! Oh, won't the parents be surprised this year when they sing a song in several languages!!! (I may have to return later and get some help pronouncing some of those words though...like the Chinese, Czech, Yiddist......because I'd really like to do this one!!!
