Subject: RE: Cracktown at The Lamp, Hull From: Once Famous Date: 07 Oct 04 - 11:24 AM John from Hull, you know I am far from a prude and could give a crap about most political correctness. However, I think that singers, bands, and so called artists who have to rely on a gimmick like the titles you describe to be noticed and differentiate themselves are morons who don't even have a clue how limiting they make themselves to a greater audience. |
Subject: RE: Cracktown at The Lamp, Hull From: GUEST Date: 07 Oct 04 - 11:29 AM I agree Martin - I do not take them seriously! |
Subject: RE: Cracktown at The Lamp, Hull From: Rt Revd Sir jOhn from Hull Date: 07 Oct 04 - 11:29 AM Martin-I'll pass your comments on to the band. |
Subject: RE: Cracktown at The Lamp, Hull From: leeneia Date: 08 Oct 04 - 09:24 AM with Sir jOhn, one never knows whether the issue is obscenity or orthography. "There is no way to peace; peace is the way." |

Subject: RE: Cracktown at The Lamp, Hull From: GUEST,Bloke at the bar Date: 08 Oct 04 - 10:57 AM They amuse you for two minites, but they are pretty crappy really |
Subject: RE: Cracktown at The Lamp, Hull From: s6k Date: 08 Oct 04 - 11:08 AM that is also, just your OPINION. which you are entitled to. however, you cannot say they are crap, only that you dont like them, which is fine. Does anyone (j0hn, etc) know if they have a website, or a place where i can listen to or download some of their stuff?? |
Subject: RE: Cracktown at The Lamp, Hull From: Blowzabella Date: 08 Oct 04 - 12:23 PM Now be fair s6k - Bloke at the Bar can say they are crap if he wants to - but you don't have to agree with him After all jOhn tells us about plenty of things that are rubbish! And we love him for it. Perhaps bloke at the Bar wants to be loved? |
Subject: RE: Cracktown at The Lamp, Hull From: Hand-Pulled Boy Date: 09 Oct 04 - 06:12 AM None of us are gay and swearing is a bad habit but it does make life interesting. You'll never be bored watching Crack Town plus they are good musicians as well. harriWatts band appeal to a wide audience as well because they sing mostly about love. We even have women fans! Neither band are traditional folk artists because all of the music is modern and self-penned but it is acoustic based which means that we do infringe on traditional folk circuits from time to time. Entrance to the Lamp is free and like most places the ale gets you drunk so give the bands a chance. You can always move on to the next pub if the going gets tough. If you like either band the autographed CD's may become collectors items one day or make good beer mats! Farewell and good luck. Or hello and give us a Fiver! Not a single swearword was used in the making of this reply. All copyrights go to the artists concerned. Now where's that copy of my Sunday Sport....................? |
Subject: RE: Cracktown at The Lamp, Hull From: s6k Date: 09 Oct 04 - 07:08 AM ah good for mentioning that!.... i need to bring my CD of yours to be autographed dont i !!! hehe |
Subject: RE: Cracktown at The Lamp, Hull From: Hand-Pulled Boy Date: 09 Oct 04 - 07:11 AM Lend us a biro then. Would you like a message of love engraved on your copy (we're not puffs by the way)? |

Subject: RE: Cracktown at The Lamp, Hull From: The Unicorn Man Date: 09 Oct 04 - 02:38 PM How does "Folk Off Productions" sound for a record company? Introduced by "The Acoustic Dudes" Martin Dent and Piers Hobson? |
Subject: RE: Cracktown at The Lamp, Hull From: Sttaw Legend Date: 09 Oct 04 - 03:13 PM Its Hobsons choice really Martin, but I feel sure you would have a massive impact, and make a really big Dent in the music industry. Your Piers would love you. My taxis here now I'm off to see Cara...tara..and good luck |
Subject: RE: Cracktown at The Lamp, Hull From: Rt Revd Sir jOhn from Hull Date: 09 Oct 04 - 07:49 PM well said Hand Pull Boy, [there both fucking good bands], so make sure you go and see them, if your not doing nowt. |

Subject: RE: Cracktown at The Lamp, Hull From: GUEST Date: 11 Oct 04 - 09:05 AM I have to agree, Cracktown are by far the worst duet I have heard in years. Amateur musicianship, below-par comedy, the f-word in every other verse. This duo have lived off the back of cheap material to gain some kind of school yard infamy. How do they do it. They are absolute MORONS riding on a CRAP JOKE!!! Two minutes of amusement, if you lucky, imagine playing in that band for the last two years, now thats chinese torture. King Rat of Cracktown "All together now, fingers in your ears, tankards in your beers". |

Subject: RE: Cracktown at The Lamp, Hull From: Sttaw Legend Date: 12 Oct 04 - 09:09 AM I am serpantly looking forward to this auspicious occasion. It will indeed be the highlight of Hull Fair week. Following on from his grand opening of the biggest fair in the world the Lord Minor of Hull will be chauffer driven in a local hackney to the Lamp. He will partake in light refreshments including sherry and cucumber slices dipped in cod liver oil (good for the bowls). He will give his rendition of a famous Old Mother Riley ditty (he/she was from Hull now in Eastern Cemetery) and then leave to enjoy his bowl movements. Enjoy..... |

Subject: RE: Cracktown at The Lamp, Hull From: Sttaw Legend Date: 13 Oct 04 - 06:36 AM I'm so looking forward to it we may need to colour co-ordinate to ensure our full potential. Dress code can kill an evening before you even start. I've decided to wear my tuxedo, this I believe will fit in nicely with the ambience in the Lamp and the high standards promoted by Cracktown who we are supporting. Silver Fox normally wears a multi-coloured scarf knitted by his Grandma, she's been dead for 70 years. King Rats wardrobe is vast, utilising many well known army styles from around the world...enjoy |
Subject: RE: Cracktown at The Lamp, Hull From: s6k Date: 13 Oct 04 - 06:48 AM are you on first or after Cracktown??? |
Subject: RE: Cracktown at The Lamp, Hull From: Hand-Pulled Boy Date: 13 Oct 04 - 08:52 AM Dave, I've seen the E-mails between Pat and yourself. There's no need to repeat yourself! s6k (Adam for short), we don't know. Chances are CT will open the event, we'll fill in the middle then they will take it on further to new heights. Of course I could be wrong. They may see sense and get someone else to support them! So we'll turn up around 20.00 hours O'clock and suss the scene man. |
Subject: RE: Cracktown at The Lamp, Hull From: Paco Rabanne Date: 13 Oct 04 - 09:53 AM Elephant head and I will make a grand sequined entrance at 8.32pm(approx) Flamenco, the true path. el ted Beverley |
