I have heard a few versions of this: I think the Scottish singer Christina Primrose sings it as well, but I don't have any printed lyrics. If someone has them, could you please post them here or at least make a blue clicky? It's a beautiful song.

It doesn't seem to be in Cas Amhráin, or in Ceolta Gael, the green or lavender one; I can't place my hand on Croch Suas É, the next place I'd look.

You might try the Traditional Music Archive in Merrion Square, Dublin.

Hi.. I've fallen madly in love with the tune "Is Trua Nach Bhfuil Me in Eirinn" off the Bothy Band 1975 album... and I think many others also have, judging from the amount of lyric requests I've seen on other websites. Anyway, I can't say anything (respectable, anyway) in irish after my year of living in the country, and now back in Canada I have been searching desperately for the lyrics for one of my favourite songs to no avail. If ANYONE knows the lyrics, has the lyrics, can get the lyrics, or knows gaelic and can write down the lyrics... I'm BEGGING YOU to send them to me!

There is a song called "Is trua gan mise i Sasana". Wonder what the connection is? I believe Micheál Ó Dónaill sang t'other one - but I don't have a recording or transcript to hand.

The lyrics look right, but they are in a different order on the Bothy band record after the first verse! Difficult to attempt to learn this song without decent Irish even with the record and the lyrics! Good luck though...

I've compared the lyrics provided here with the version from the bothy band and it's nearly the same. he just sings the verses in a different order and skips on all together.

reminds me of lyrics which go under a different title -- I'll get back to you when I remember the title and look up that song!

(I also think there is a Scottish Gaelic song with different lyrics and similar title)
