Hullo,
I think that I'm correct in saying that 2006 will be the 10th. anniversary of Alex's passing & I was wondering if those of you who knew him would be interested in taking part in some sort of commemoration of him either in Norwich or in Cornwall because of his association with both parts of the country. Nothing neccesarily too formal but perhaps an opportunity to meet up & maybe raise money for a charity to be decided by his family. I've mentioned it to one or two people & have already had an offer of a venue in the Norwich area.

George

Count me in, and I'm sure Derek Brimstone will be up for it too.

Hi there,

I would be most interested in attending any event in Norwich to commemorate Alex.

I met Alex a few times and had some GREAT sessions with him , as we
both had an interest in Old Jazz as well as the Folk Thing . he was a
good Stomping Jazz pianist !!

I've always considered that I owe Alex Atterson a great debt because I believe that he was one of the founder members of the Peterborough Folk Club (the first one that I ever attended). I only met him a few times but he was a great performer and a great character - sadly missed but still warmly remembered.

This aroused old half forgotten memories so went Googling and found this; I see a certain Mike Silver gets a mention.

Hullo,

Just to let you know that things are moving & that a meeting will take place in February concerning a possible venue in the Norwich area. If anyone's got any suggestions as to a possible site in Cornwall I'd appreciate their input. Hopefully the events will take place in June / July 2006.
