A few years ago on a programme broadcast by RTE, i forget the name of the programme, they featured a woman singing this song,

Basically It's about a young man who emigrated from Ireland to the States, and as time went on, his mother decided to write him a letter, that she simply adressed, "Me son in Amerkay", needless to say it caused great consternation within the postal service, and i believe the letter was finally delivered. quite humourus, and it's on me mind at the moment, and i cant find any ref to it anywhere

Any one out there have this by any chance?

Always try alternate spellings when using the very good onsite search engine we have here; particularly where "my" appears, as a lot of people insist on spelling it "me" if they think it's a folksong.

my son in amerikay will find you a discussion of the song, with the additional information that it is in the DT as my son in americay.
