Subject: What happened to the Intl. Lyr Server?

Anyone know what's happened to the International Lyrics Server? It's been offline for a while. It's been a great source for jazz standard tunes--things that the Digital Tradition might not have. I'm looking for the lyrics to "Way Down Yonder in New Orleans." Anyone know where else I might find those?

Thanks.

Works OK for me, Terry. Are you sure you have the right URL? Try this http://www.lyrics.ch/.

The bad news is: I couldn't find "Way Down Yonder....".

International Lyrics Server seems to work normally for me, although I noticed it was a bit sluggish earlier this week.
I also noticed that OLGA, the on-line guitar archive, is back online.
For jazz standards, you might try Rabid Squirrel's Jazz Archive.

I didn't find the song at any of the normal search sites, but I did come up with it by doing a Hotbot search for the second line of the chorus (the first line brought up too many 'hits'). I found more verses on papers, but my social life calls. I'll post more later, unless some kind soul wants to do it first. Hope this satisfies you for now.

WAY DOWN YONDER IN NEW ORLEANS
Freddy "Boom Boom" Cannon
(Henry Creamer and J. Turner Layton, 1922)

CHORUS:
Way down yonder in New Orleans
in the land of dreamy scenes
There's a garden of Eden,
you know what I mean

Well, Creole babies with flashing eyes
softly whisper with tender sighs,
And then you Stop!
Oh won't you give your lady fair a little smile.
And then you Stop!
You bet your life you'll linger there a little while

There is heaven right here
on earth with those beautiful queens
Way down yonder in New Orleans

REPEAT

MUSIC TO FADE

Terry, I found the lyrics to Way Down Yonder in New Orleans (click me). They're in a great new book from Dover called 500 Best-Loved Song Lyrics, by Ronald Herder.
