Hey, Skarpi! Remember that the Vikings once OWNED Dublin! Claim your estate, which is most of the town. They've made some changes since the Battle of Clontarf in 1014, too.

You have a wonderful time -- I wish I could be there!

I have been trying to find Mudcatters In Dublin or In that Area
but with no luck.
I might take a train though to Kilkenny on Saturday and meet
Seamus Kennedy ( a fellow Mudcatter ) but we´ll have to see about that.
So what should we see In Dublin Any ideas?
O´Donahue´s Pup there I´ll be for about one pint or so.
And try to find some Instrumetns store .
So now I am going to the doctor to take out the (stichis)the tread who
kept my belly together.
And here´s some news to them are going to Portaferry I am gonna be there with my band , jabb and if everythings goes well we might
play a little hahahah, or I hope so we are taking care of airfair and hotels
so we´ll know about this next week.
Well that all for now
All the best Skarpi Iceland.

To see Dublin, Skarpi, you must visit St. Stephen's Green and Trinity College -- the Book of Kells is in the "Long Room" of the Library. There are also great museums! And Kilmainham jail is a must. There's also the General Post Office on O'Connell Street, the statue of the Tart with the Cart (Molly Malone), St. Patrick's Cathedral (where Jonathan Swift, who wrote "Gulliver's Travels" was Dean), and of course the Jamieson Distillery and the Guinness Brewery.

hi Skarpi, I hope you have a good trip
can you get a direct flight to Ireland now??

I heard Caoimhín Mac Aoidh on the radio last week talking about a recent trip to give a Donegal fiddle workshop in Iceland. He mentioned an Icelander who comes to the Donegal summer school regularly and who teaches fiddle in Iceland the rest of the year. Do you know about this? Caoimhin lives in Co Donegal, I think in Ballyshannon, and you might "give him a bell" while you're here (suggest you e-mail him first if you can get his e-mail address via the IrishTrad-L mailing list or websearch for MacAoidh or for Cairde na bhFidleoirí; then Caoimhín might give you day and eve phone nos)

Hi Skarpi

If it's unaccompanied traditional singing you want and you're in Dublin on a Friday night try the Góilín Singers Club. They meet upstairs in Maye's pub on the junction of Nt. Fredrick St. Blessington St. and Dorset St. Just 3 mins walk from O'Connell St. Only 2 Euro, the best value in Ireland.

Fergus

Have a great time in Dublin. You can't fail to!

Glendalough is beautiful. Hope you have time to find the graveyard there. It has to be one of the most peaceful places on earth.

Dublin is awash with sculptures. Check out those sited around St. Stephen's Green. And as well as 'The Tart with The Cart', mentioned above....there's the 'Floozie in the Jacuzzi' down O'Connell st.....in the middle of the road outside a cinema ( Can't remember which one?).

Kilmainham is a must do.

Safe journey Skarpi!! Enjoy your Guinness, it's so much better in Ireland (and it doesn't get you drunk or give you a hang-over the next day!!)

I drove up Wicklow Mountain and visited Glendalough a few years ago with my daughter. The whole place is quite magical. We came across a ruined church tucked away somewhere (can't remember exactly where) which was wonderful, and near the top of the mountain we stopped at Glenmalure waterfall. It was mid-winter - rugged and windswept, and you could just feel the history of the place. One of my favourite memories of Ireland.

Skarpi - It's not looking good; sorry, I've been sick and misread your "Friday night in Three Rocks" for "Saturday night..."

I could perhaps nip briefly into the Yellow House in the hope you might be there later.

REally, really sorry, Skarpi, if you were in the Yellow House. Next time you're in Dublin. I really should find out how to re-cookie. I'm always cleaning the things out, and accidentally cleaning out the few I want to keep as well... why don't browsers have 'sticky cookies' that you can deliberately keep when you clear the cache?

JTT: All you need to do is 'log in' again (dropdown box at top right of page. All you need is your registered name & password. Maybe you have a PM from skarpi in your personal page which you wouldn't see while being 'logged off' having lost your cookie.
