I'd appreciate any help on this, because I have no idea what I'm doing... I just want to add an audio file to my website.

Try reading this as a basic starting point. A bit more information about what exactly you want to to would be helpful.

"Add" as in "allow someone to download an audio file"? Upload it to the server, and put a link to the file in the same way as you'd put a link to an HTML file.

But if you mean "add" as in "make a tune play automatically when the site loads", please don't. This is one thing that really annoys most web surfers. Honest, people will like your site *more* for not having music playing - even if they like the tune, downloading the file takes bandwidth which could better be used reading your site. Broadband users may not care, but most people still use dial-up, and on dial-up bandwidth it just ain't practical.

Graham.

I'll second Grab's comment. Having the OPTION to download and/or play an audio file is great - having them start up automatically is frequently a pain.

I don't want it to start automatically. That annoys me too...

Easiest way is to upload the files to your storage area and then place a normal link to it from your page.

It doesn't seem to be working. Do I have to convert it first?
