Subject: RE: John Peel Tribute Tonight, UK, BBC2 From: Liz the Squeak Date: 06 Nov 04 - 07:32 PM It was indeed a good programme, very thoughtful, insightive and amusing. And great to see all those bands from my youth..... Didn't Jarvis Cocker look funny with lots of curly hair! LTS |
Subject: RE: John Peel Tribute Tonight, UK, BBC2 From: GUEST,Andrew Barber Date: 12 Nov 04 - 08:49 AM What a well documented tribute programme to a broadcasting legend and national treasure. John Peel was God's gift to Radio. Great to see all the bands that were championed including the Undertones. Snippets of him broadcasting on Radio 1 were fantastic and it was interesting to see his hairstyles and indeed the change of colour in his beard over the years. John was a great inspiration to many generations of listeners playing fantastic music. Rob Da Bank has a hard job on his hands as Mr Peel is truly irreplacable. |
Subject: RE: John Peel Tribute Tonight, UK, BBC2 From: Zany Mouse Date: 12 Nov 04 - 09:27 AM The programme was excellent. JP got better in every way (including looks!) as he aged. Not sure what will happen with Home Truths now. Anyone got news? Rhiannon |
