Subject: RE: Tech: Hober Radio Expired? From: Chris in Wheaton Date: 29 Nov 04 - 12:14 PM My recollection is that they told me there is enough money for some months, but that Hober could end next year. I hope donations are solicited before it ends. Chris |
Subject: RE: Tech: Hober Radio Expired? From: katlaughing Date: 24 Jul 07 - 10:43 AM Anyone else having difficulty connecting with them, today? I have tried several times and get a "can't get network connection" message. |

Subject: RE: Tech: Hober Radio Expired? From: katlaughing Date: 14 Mar 10 - 08:16 PM Anyone able to get Hober Radio the past couple of days? I keep getting the play screen on RA but with their message of "building one" something or other at a time and the same flute music they play over and over when it's down for maintenance. I've never seen it down this long, so I sent them email via the reception report link. No word as of yet, so i figured I'd ask you all. Thanks! |
Subject: RE: Tech: Hober Radio Expired? From: katlaughing Date: 24 Mar 10 - 11:57 PM Anyone? I just sent them an email to the webmaster because of an error I got, this time, when I tried to send a reception report. It is still just that one tune with the message about building. |
Subject: RE: Tech: Hober Radio Expired? From: katlaughing Date: 25 Mar 10 - 03:08 AM Looks as though they may be kaput. I've just received this in response to my email of today: webmaster@hober.com Technical details of permanent failure: Google tried to deliver your message, but it was rejected by the recipient domain. We recommend contacting the other email provider for further information about the cause of this error. The error that the other server returned was: 550 550 Nobody here by that name (state 14). Anyone else have any luck listening to them? |
Subject: RE: Tech: Hober Radio Expired? From: slipjigs Date: 07 Apr 10 - 12:29 AM I don't quite understand what is going on with Hober. If I try to connect to the 'Listen to Hober' link (hober.com/hober.ram), I get the continuous Japanese flute music. But connecting to the 'experimental mp3' stream ( http://play.hober.com/hober.mp3.m3u), I do get the current music! I have usually been listening to Hober on an Aluratek Internet Radio, and that has been working fine with no interruptions, but it's hard to tell exactly what url the Internet Radio is using. I today happened to try to connect via computer and encountered the flute music, so I have been googling to try to figure out what's up, and found your query. The good news is that the Hober music is, in fact, still playing if you use the right link! |
Subject: RE: Tech: Hober Radio Expired? From: Bill D Date: 07 Apr 10 - 10:54 AM Hmmm.. I hadn't played Hober for many months, but I went to one of my several Radio apps and clicked it and it played immediately... at http://play.hober.com:80/hober.mp3 |
Subject: RE: Tech: Hober Radio Expired? From: bobad Date: 07 Apr 10 - 11:00 AM The mp3 stream plays on Windows Media Player for me. |
Subject: RE: Tech: Hober Radio Expired? From: Bill D Date: 07 Apr 10 - 11:37 AM Here is Raima Radio version 2.0 I am still using version 1.46, and I know that there are newer versions that are not free, but that says 2.0 IS free. Screamer Radio IS free, but I just like the Raima interface better. |
Subject: RE: Tech: Hober Radio Expired? From: katlaughing Date: 29 Apr 10 - 11:19 PM Thanks, folks. I have been able to get it going, again. Today has been a pleasure with standouts including our own Kendall Morse, U Utah Phillips doing "Starlight On the Rails," a great "Liza Jane (God's Unchanging Hand)by Mississippi John Hurt, and "Who Will Buy You Ribbons" done by Ed Trickett and, just now, one of my favourite groups, Telynor, singing "The Two Ravens." Great mix, as always! |
