Subject: W Abbey FC - closed 27 Dec/3 Jan From: GUEST,Leraud Date: 22 Dec 04 - 04:25 AM Firstly, thanks to all who made the Waltham Abbey Folk Club Christmas Party such a success on Monday, and to Chingford Morris for their much-admired contribution. A great time was had by all. Unfortunately, although we advertised the club as being open on 27th Dec and 3rd Jan, The Royal British Legion (our venue) has decided to close the premises on those two dates. If you know of anyone who was planning to come on either of those dates, please tell them the sad news. Jim Coombes, one of our members, has kindly invited us to his house in Loughton on 3rd Jan. Obviously we will be restricted with numbers, but if you are interested, PM me and I will let you have his email address, so that you can book a place. Our next club night will be on 10th January and our guests are the superb 'Thorn and Roses' a close harmony group from Cornwall. They are well worth seeing. They will also be on at the Essex Singers Club on 8th Jan and Spotlight in St Albans on 9th Jan. Waltham Abbey Folk Club meets every (nearly every!) Monday at 8:30 p.m. at The Royal British Legion, Brooker Road, Waltham Abbey, Essex. There is now a security system, so please ring the bell to get in. Seasons Greetings to you all, Lynne Heraud |
