Subject: Woot! Got me a show! From: SeanM Date: 06 Feb 05 - 06:04 PM Used to be a regular here, and though I've been lurking more than anything, thought I'd share... I's got a show! Well, the band I'm in (The Poxy Boggards) does. We're opening for the Fenians ('modern' folk redos amplified, I like 'em) on St. Patrick's Day at the House of Blues. Woohoo! I get to actually wear a backstage pass for once! |

Subject: RE: Woot! Got me a show! From: SeanM Date: 11 Feb 05 - 10:49 AM Thank you! Unfortunately, Whiskey Business is being delayed. For everyone NOT on that page of "obscure SoCal folk bands", we normally do a fair amount of moderately modernized acoustic folk and a fair whack of original drinking songs. Whiskey Business is a minor departure, being a completely traditional song album (though in our style) - Botany Bay, Holy Ground, I'll Tell Me Ma (we suspected that there's actually a contract folkies sign with the Devil - ALL Irish CDs by American bands must include that) and more. Unfortunately - well, fortunately - a series of shows and a few other mishaps have pushed recording/release back. We'd hoped for early spring. Now it's looking more like late fall/early winter. |
