I am frantically searching for the name and/or lyrics to a song that keeps running thru my head and begs to be included in a sunday school christmas program in two weeks...I know I know, how middle class..but please if you know it, let me know? the words I remember are "here with the ass and oxen mild, sleep, sleep, sleep thou holy child. Thousand cherubim, thousand seraphim come from heaven above to find the King of Love.".....thanks to anyone who knows!!!

My 1940 Episcopal Hymnal has it as #38: "Here betwixt ass and oxen mild, sleep, sleep, sleep my little child..." and lists it as a French Noel, 13th century, by Gevaert. I remember children's choir long ago... The 1940 hymnal is often available at used book stores- I've hardly ever failed to find one! I know I've seen this carol elsewhere and will look around.
