We are delighted to announce the imminent arrival of our new CD Floating Verses.

"Floating Verses" is so called because of the amount of recycled material in it - including one song "Waly Waly" seemingly made up entirely of spare parts, but several others have odd verses that appear elsewhere. Once again we are joined by our friends Dave and Gina Holland on fiddle and recorder adding some extra instrumental colour and fine musicianship, and the songs are complemented by a scattering of tune arrangements even more sophisticated than before.

Doug Bailey at Wild Goose says they "look great". We should have our first batch tomorrow, Thursday February 24 and your first chance to get your hands on a copy will be Sunday night at the recent-BBC-award-winning Hitchin Folk Club where we are doing a 40 minute spot supporting Artisan. By then, I should have it available to order online. Next gigs where we'll be laden with new CDs are the Anchor, Byfleet and then Seaford, on March 3 and 4, and then in April and May it all goes mad - see gigs page

What an ear-pricking, mouthwatering tracklist! And I have already heard you doing some of them live, so I am sure it's going to be a cracker.

I WAAAAANT!

We're going to be like kids at Christmas tomorrow when the Securicor man arrives!

Looking at the track list now, I forgot to mention that we also have fellow mudcatter Chris Amos on Guitar on "Blow the Candles Out"

Good luck, if it's half as good as the last one it'll be twice as good(at least) as Grandad by Clive Dunn, to mention but a few.

>Nothing< is as good as "Grandad" by Clive Dunn(!)... However, the prospect of Mary, Anahata, Chris Amos and Dave and Gina in consort promises miracles which I am thoroughly looking forward to hearing. Good luck with it!

Red Max - thank you very much but I wish Mudcatters woudn't sneak in and out of our gigs without identifying themselves! Now I still don't know who you are!!!

And Jon - Chris is on the one song with me on concertina. We don't ever actually get all 5 of us together, though by the end of the Whitefryers Hornpipe I'm multitracked on cello and melodeon with D,G and M going full tilt so that makes sort of 5 - "glorious" Doug Bailey called it. Don't know about miracles but it certainly has its moments. The CDs have arrived at home and Mary says they look and sound good, but I haven't seen them yet. Just about to whizz home from work now... byeee!

Hi Red Max,
Glad you enjoyed the Harrogate gig. So did we! You have a really good club there -nice venue, decent beer and some smashing resident performers. Hope it goes from strength to strength.

Not another CD! You're beginning to get prolific. I hope there's good some songs on it that I can nick.
Anyway, best of luck with it - I will definitely be buying one.

And there's a track available on http://209radio.co.uk/shows/profile.php?show=makeitfolky until Sunday's show replaces it...

They are:

4. Young Redin*
5. Dunmow Galumph / Danbury Hill*

starting at about 17 minutes into the show into 24 minutes, and the chap gave a couple of trailers such as Stony Stratford, plus their website and...stop press! they'll be interviewed there in two weeks which I guess is, er, 6th March and available online for the following week.

*stop stop press: Young Redin is from the earlier album "Through The Groves" and Dunmow etc from the a little less earlier "Sharp Practice". Ah well, I'm sure they'll be playing the new album soon enough.

...and the Stony Stratford gig is long gone!

The interview was recorded about two weeks ago and there was no sign of the new CD back then.

I might put a few snippets on the web site as MP3's...

The online ordering system is alive and well - even sold one that way already!

Hi Dick - yes, it's WGS322CD.
(until it gets moved off the "new releases" page)

Contact Doug Bailey at Wild Goose for more info on how to order some for your own catalog.
