Subject: Charlie Poole biography - where ? From: Les B Date: 02 Dec 98 - 10:35 PM A day or so ago in one of the threads here I skimmed over a reference to a book about Charlie Poole, the banjo player and rounder from the 1930's. I've checked Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble and don't seem to find it listed. Anyone have a source ? Thanks. |

Subject: RE: Charlie Poole biography - where ? From: Pete Peterson Date: 28 Sep 99 - 12:11 PM County Records, Box 191, Floyd VA 24149 also carries Rorrer's biography, a true labor of love. There is a 3rd verse to There'll Come a Time and I think Mac Benford sings it on his solo record-- it can also be found in Sigmund Spaeth's Read'em and Weep, The Songs You Forgot to Remember. (Is this book still in print somewhere? Lovely source of lyrics) Hope this helps, PETE |
