Howdy-
I am looking to start a folk band in San Francisco (what better place)? I'm a youngish singer that loves the good stuff, Tom Paxton, Joan Baez, PP&M....also vocal bluegrass and old blues....anybody out there want to help or offer advice on how to get something going?

I'm a singer....so I need basically any instrument....

i suggest connecting with the s.f. folk club..www.sffmc.org
they hold sings, festivals, camps, etc and
you can most certainly find others there!

Musician / vocalist It sounds like a great idea , however the cost
of UK / San Fan travel might well make it a little Nonviable . Best of luck any way "!!

i believe the Starry Plow is in the East Bay, Berkeley
Starry Plow, on 3101 Shattuck Ave in far South Berkeley
(right next to La Pena, 3 blocks north of Alcatraz.)

I believe a similar pub is in San Fransisco, called
the Plow and Stars.

Accordian and Pan Flute - what can you offer for an advance, and transportation allowance - who is the backer - can they assure 1000US a week? When where is the cattle-call? (You obviously want more serious actors that musicians)
