On 3/6/05, I was watching "Cold Case Files" on CBS. At the end of the program was a great swing/jazz vocal version of the song "Over the Rainbow".

Does anyone have any idea who sang it? I've written to CBS, but so far, they haven't written back.

Thanks,

Bob

Is that the version by a single singer stumming away on a Uke? If so it's on the soundtrack of "Meet Joe Black"

That's the one. I remember hearing that night. It's a lovely version. Every time I hear it, I fall in love with it again!

Ahhhh.. I love Brudda Iz's version!! It's on his CD FACING FUTURE and is well worth the purchase price. Don't wait for a sale cuz it never goes on sale. Buy it from an Indie store and anything esle of his you can lay your paws on. You won't be sorry.

I enjoy Israel's version, but for my money it can't begin to touch Eva Cassidy's.

oh..I love them each for different reasons.

Now....Eva Cassidy's cover of Sting's 'Fields of Gold' is probably the best rendering of that song that will ever be done. If for some reasons, somebody out there reading this has not heard any of Eva Cassidy's recordings..stop reading and go get some NOW.

What's sad is both singers passed away too soon.
