Subject: Music req: 'A Place Called England' From: NormanD Date: 19 Apr 05 - 11:06 AM Could anyone please say what the chords are for Maggie Holland's great "A Place Called England"? The words are listed elsewhere, but not the music. Or even the key, and the chord numbers, to keep it simple, would be great. If this is already listed in the site somewhere, apologies for starting a new thread - I couldn't find it. Thanks in advance Norman |
Subject: RE: Music req: 'A Place Called England' From: breezy Date: 19 Apr 05 - 11:32 AM Listen to June Tabor's version. The key may not be of use to you, you have to to pitch it for your voice. Do you have Maggie's version on CD? Tonic -I walked out on a bright may morning Sub Dom - Like a -tonic- Hero in a- dom7th- song there thats a start I found it out by picking the melody as accurately as I could, and I think I did O K, then putting on the chords. |

Subject: RE: Music req: 'A Place Called England' From: NormanD Date: 19 Apr 05 - 12:00 PM Thanks, both of you. I've now found the thread (and read it all the way through) and found what's needed. I'll try guit. and banjo chords and work the melody out as per Breezy's advice. Norman |
