Subject: UK: Barrow Last Sunday session moves!

The consultation process having been duly gone through, it can now be publicly announced that the Last Sunday of the Month session previously celebrated at the Six Bells in Barrow upon Humber is now moving to the Haymaker
at Bonby.

The main reason for the move is that Jo, our hostess at both the Coach & Horses in Barton, and the Six Bells in Barrow, is now domiciled in Bonby, and for some curious reason misses our cacophony, so she has fixed it for us to play at the Haymakers, and even negotiated a buffet into the deal.

Bonby is one of the Low Villages, between South Ferriby and Brigg, nestling on the spring line between the majestic backdrop of the Lincolnshire Wolds, and the broad Vale of Ancholme, and when the wind is anywhere in the north, the evocative perfume of Benson's Tripe Works pervades the bucolic charm.

The inaugural session is coinciding with the hunter's moon this coming Sunday, 24th April 2005. It bodes well.

Sorry, that was me above - went off prematurely. The Haymaker is often referred-to by locals as Pandora's Box or Pandora's, a name it used until about 20 years ago.

There is a 9 foot high deep-sea diving suit complete with its gunmetal helmet hanging from a stand in the lounge - this was an exhibition-piece from a manufactuer of such things, designed to attract interest at a trade show in the 30s.

The toilets are far too opulent.

Well, opulent loos & diving suit notwithstanding, I intend to go there on Sunday & support a new session in my area. I think Kit may well come too. Anyone else up for it?

Assuming I aren't knee deep in horse shit at the stables, what time does this star spangled session kick off?

I think me and Uncle Melvin will be coming along. Will the buffet include butterless ham sandwiches?

I am sad to say that I am unlikely to make it tomorrow. It would be really good to see Oaklet weilding a fiddle having been stimulated to emerge from hibernation by the increasing day length and warm April days. I will also be sorry not to catch KJ - the essays explain your absence at Barrow - must be a relief! I had my first paper accepted for publication this week and I am extremely proud of myself.

I hope to see you all again soon, though I may not make it to Barrow for a turesday or two either.

Richard.

Kick-off should be about 8pm, until we are invited to leave. Sorry we won't see you, Richard, and congratulations for your publication. Is it a story with cod in? And is there a good cod end?

Cod you please stop making puns about fish? I've haddock about enough of it. I'm feeling a bit ruff today and you know I'm hard of herring. I hate these keyboards, I much prefer whiting by hand. Will Gordon come and bring his bass? I know the session will be brill, we'll all have a whale of a time!!!! (By the way, will entrance be free or will we have to pay a couple of squid?)
Just don't start on eggs. You'll just egg me on, though it will be eggshellent!!!.....is led away, jibbering incoherently, by sympathetic men in white coats..
Will be there tomorrow at , sans verbal diarrhoeia, more or less.
Love to all

Excellent first session, very welcoming people and loads of sarnies, plus a good attendance by top musicians from North Lincs and surroundings. Looks like being a very nice venue.

Second thrash this coming Sunday, 29th, at the Haymaker's, Bonby, North Lincolnshire. Lashings of food and an appreciative crowd assured.

In fact, I'll start a new thread, so let this one fall down the list at what us northern boaty types call maximum Hull speed.
